Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood within The West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" spot. Most people who do not know the name mistakenly believe that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. It is often cited as the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her stay at the island was infrequent. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Her early ambition was to dance but the growth rate of her body meant she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. The article she wrote about her experience revealed published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall while wearing heels. After I reached the point of outgrowing male dance partners, I began to stop. In Brugel's case, it was her encouragement from a drama teacher from her high school, which prompted her to pursue acting. The teacher suggested that she go after a role in the annual school production. She was the teacher who suggested that she take on a part in the school's annual production. This Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in the year 2000. For the last two decades she has had her perform in more than 60 shows and films. Her most notable role was that of Rita (shown below) in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and appeared only on occasion.
